Cliff Mine and Cemetery, Keweenaw County, Michigan

Cliff is a ghosttown located on the Keweenaw Peninsula of Michigan. This was an old copper mining town in the 1800's. If I recall my history correctly, this was the first mine in the copper country that ever paid a dividend to its shareholders.

This town has long since been abandoned, but you can still find foundations and a cemetery that still remains. Most of the headstones in the cemetery are also long gone, but you can still find some wooden headstones that are intact. There is good signage to the area, so it does get a lot of tourism.
