Gay, MI This is a former site of a stamp mill for copper mining in the UP of michigan. The town is mostly a ghost town now, and you can find the industrial wreckage of the stamp mill and there is also an abandoned school in town too. The name Gay has no reference to homosexuality. The town actually got it's name from one of its founders, Joseph E. Gay. There is a gay bar in town, but it's actually a straight bar called the Gay Bar to be funny, since it is in Gay, MI. I have a few photos here now, but not many (only like 9). But it will give you a taste of what there is in town. I might try to go back this comming summer and better document the town photographically, but that is on hold right now, cause we get too much snow up here in the winter.
