Packard Plant, Detroit, MI The Packard Motor Car Company was a luxury car company based out of Detroit, MI. The company is now defunct. You can find more information on this company by going to Wikipedia. The manufacturing complex is a large area and can be located just off of I-94 in Detroit near E Grand Blvd and Concord St. There is even a bridge that connects sections of the plant across E Grand Blvd. When we visited, we stayed in the Northeast quadrant of the complex. We visited the complex during September of 2007. We saw many interesting things, but our visit was cut short when we saw other people in the complex. We didn't know their intentions and felt it best to just leave the property. Once the Packard Motor Car Company moved out of the plant, the site was occupied by some other businesses. We did manage to find a room full of files in the building, some of which we took as documentation. This included Statements of Work, estimates, and blueprints for various Aeronautical equipment. The company that owned the documentation was: The documentation we found featured dates in the 1960's and dealt with clients such as: I haven't been back since then, but I'm sure the site will contain a wealth of explorations and discoveries.
